POOLCRAFT at the Macro-Sea Pools.

SPACECRAFT had a great Sunday this past weekend hosting a crafting event at the Macro-Sea pools in Gowanus (Brooklyn). Dub Pies donated some amazing meat and veggie pies for the event and we raised some money for our favorite non-profit, Bags for the People. Thank you so much to all the friends and family that helped us out too. The kids started decorating the hula hoops, t-shirts and bandanas and the parents couldn't hold back and started doing their own t-shirts too. No one can resist our one-of-a-kind t-shirt spinner!!!
All in all, we are enjoying some great opportunities to take the crafting show on the road. It's a lot to pack up, but sure is fun when we get there!
Thanks to everyone who made it such a special day!!!!

Braided Belts and an 8-year-old makes her own Felt Kitty

A friend came into the shop and was complaining that he had no belt to hold up his shorts so I grabbed some fabric scrap, braided it together, and made him an old fashioned rope belt like from the Beverly Hillbillies...only more colorful and way cooler. Loved it so much I had to make one for myself. Now we can't stop playing with the color combinations of all those scraps that were too small to make much of anything else. We're selling a few in the store in case anyone else stops by and finds they love them as much as we do.
Also this past week we had an awesome 8-year old visiting from Minnesota and she so confidently made her own plush kitty with felt and we wanted to share how amazing even the youngest crafters are. We are so blessed to have such diverse creativity in our shop every day and are thankful for the new friends we make.

Sister Blankets

At this past Monday night's Church of Craft, Callie Janoff finally got close to finishing a blanket that she said was inspired by a blanket Cristina had started shortly before. Both were made for people they love and the blankies will go separate ways, so we are memorializing their sisterhood here and they will always be together forever...somehow...
